The market will help shed light on the more competitive of the two bumpers but at this stage we like DORABELLE ahead of Heather Royal, Dark Sensation and Natural Spring. Our pick was a decisive winner of a Uttoxeter bumper on her debut when seemingly unfancied. This extra furlong won't pose any type of problem and ground conditions very much suit, so with the prospect of improvement and Jason Maguire taking over in the saddle she's taken to find the improvement required to defy her penalty. That may not be easy though as in Heather Royal we have a fascinating newcomer for a top yard. She's a half-sister to Barbers Shop who himself won on debut in one of these and a market check is a must. Dark Sensation found plenty of improvement for running on quick ground last time and wasn't beaten far although we do feel this is tougher whilst Natural Spring was last seen running respectably in the Aintree bumper; this is much easier, but she still needs to find a little bit to beat Dorabelle despite that one's penalty. Midnight Macarena and Bianco Fuji should both improve on their debuts whilst Calusa Catrina is well related and could go close if fully wound up for her first try but Dorabelle sets a fair standard and may be good enough to carry a penalty to success.
