Naples Bay is 5lb better off than when third behind Jessie Allan over 6f here last time and is well worth a try over this extra furlong, though looks to have been handed a poor draw. MECCA’S SPIRIT (NAP) hasn’t fared much better in that respect but came from behind to win going away over track and trip last week. Considering he missed the break, that was a noteworthy effort and Michael Dods’ three-year-old can defy a penalty with his yard in good form at present. Lucky Violet won over a mile here at the same meeting but is also penalised and more exposed. My Valentino has place claims again, however, along with Donnelly's Rainbow and Inglorious.
