In depth

Verdict

A farce in which many have chances but Alleviate should win at the main of expense of Plane Painter. The selection comes here on the back of an all-weather win at Great Leighs. That was over a slightly shorter trip but he shapes as if he will stay this trip and is related to some useful stayers (half-sister to Allegretto). She has shown a fondness for quick ground in the past and she should be up to defying a 7lb higher mark today. Plane Painter is the obvious rival; he has proven his stamina for this trip in the past and will no doubt try to grind out victory from the front and get his rival off the bridle. Stolen Light completes the field but has a bit to find on the ratings and judged on his recent reappearance, he has plenty to find in terms of fitness. Alleviate it is then who should win.
