BLINDSPIN is the pick of the weights and can make the most of the drop in grade by getting the better of Grit and Transmission. Elliwan is another with decent claims at the weights but Mick Easterby's runner has disappointed on both starts since returning from a mid-season break; including at this level and he, consequently, has something to prove. Transmission went well in heavy ground at this track on his penultimate start and merits respect in this contest despite seemingly facing a stiff task at the weights. Grit beat Red Skipper at this venue on his penultimate start before disappointing at Hamilton and it would be no surprise to see this honest performer bounce back to form here. Marginal preference though is for Michael Dods' runner despite his failure at Leicester last time where he raced too keenly and had too much use made of him. He has yet to prove that he stays this far but is bred to do so and Blindspin can make the best of his way home.
