This maiden looks quite trappy but we will side with Unilateral to get the better of Wotashirtfull and Jerry Hamilton. This filly from the in-form Brian Smart yard showed plenty of pace on her debut when she finished second behind Regal Step at Nottingham. She looked like she would be capable of winning races on the evidence of that run and with the ground in her favour she sets the benchmark. Wotashirtfull ran well on his debut to finish third behind a horse trained by Brian Smart, so the Yorkshire trainer should have a decent line of form to go on and subsequently we think his runner will prevail today. Jerry Hamilton is a well-bred newcomer from the Mark Johnston yard but his breeding would suggest that he will be better over a longer trip in time and he is probably best watched on his debut. Merchant of Dubai and Powys Lad will both have to improve to get competitive, so this looks a good opportunity for Unilateral to build on the promise she showed on her debut.
