A competitive maiden gets proceedings underway and as usual in these events the market will be very informitave but the main protagonists look to be Especially, Runswick Bay and Cairnbrae and the narrow vote is given to Especially. The selection catches the eye on breeding being a filly by Fantastic Light. Her stable's two-year-olds are begining to hit form and from a good draw she looks the one to be on. Runswick Bay rates the main danger on his latest third behind Maze but he has had plenty of chances and again he looks vulnerable to a newcommer. Cairnbrae is another worthy of respect on his debut sixth behind Bere Davies. He is sure to improve but the suspicion is he will be seen to better effect over a longer trip in time. Mujind showed a modicum of ability on his debut and is another that should improve while Shaloo Diamond catches the eye on breeding but her stable are not renowned for two-year-old winners and with this in mind for the winner we return to Especially.
