In depth

Verdict

Cruachan showed his liking for testing conditions at Perth, coming home just over a length to the good over today's rival Vertigo. The runner-up has the best of the weights this time but hasn't done the form any favours in his two subsequent starts while Ceegem, who was also behind, was well beaten into third at Kelso later. Ardmilan travels over from Ireland but is better over fences. Craiganboy has been chasing without much luck but ARCTIC VODKA has done much better since tackling heavy going and, though by no means leniently treated on his handicap debut, is taken to get off the mark.
