COOL MIX was always in the firing-line when just failing to hold Treshnish at Newcastle where the soft ground brought about some improvement. Today's going shouldn't be a problem but Felix Mendelssohn has shown his best form on quicker going in Ireland. Mcgowan's Pass finished behind the selection when making his hurdling debut having won a bumper on heavy going at Newcastle in February. He can go well here while Irish raider Ardean Lass won a point on soft ground, though may find this on the short side. The latter remark could also apply to the dual point-to-point winner My Old Gold though she's an interesting runner for Nicky Richards.
