Verdict
It's rare that Roger Varian has a runner at this track but he's dispatched a small raiding party today led by PRETZEL. He made a winning start at Newmarket and his latest second to Muteela looks better in hindsight with the latter scoring at Royal Ascot on Wednesday. He gets the vote given Sir Guy Porteous makes a quick reappearance under a penalty having won a lower grade contest at Hamilton during the week and Goodwood runner-up Homestretch also steps up in class. Braidley was still beaten nine lengths when second at Doncaster while Azagal has been well beaten since scoring over 7f at the latter track.
