HUGOS NEW HORSE has gone from strength-to-strength. Though he’ll probably be going chasing next season, he can pick up another nice prize over the smaller obstacles here after another excellent run in a Grade 3 handicap at Sandown last month. Hourvari has also been progressive while Persian Time still has time on his side despite pulling up in last month’s Ballymore. Idalko Bihoue and Passing Well are probably up against it despite being others eased in grade.
Hourvari (FR) Evensfav (11-12) Made all and set steady pace, hit 3 out, quickened and clear before 2 out, not fluent last, unchallenged, won at Market Rasen 2m 3f (4) sft in Mar beating Bonttay (11-5) by 6 1/2l, 8 ran.
Hugos New Horse (FR) 11-1 (11-12) Mid-division, headway out wide after 2nd, went 2nd home turn until ridden before 2 out, plugged on in well held 3rd, 3rd of 16, 8 1/2l behind Crambo (11-5) at Sandown 2m 4f hcp (1) hvy in Mar.
Passing Well (FR) 11-2 (11-2) Raced wide towards rear, headway chasing leaders 7th, pushed along after 4 out, outpaced before next, weakened soon after, 10th of 12, dist behind Makin'yourmindup (11-2) at Haydock 3m (1) gs in Feb.
Persian Time 150-1 (11-7) Always in rear, tailed off 3 out, never a factor, tailed off and pulled up before the last, at Cheltenham 2m 5f (1) sft in Mar.
Idalko Bihoue (FR) 250-1 (11-7) Off the pace towards rear, tailed off 3 out, pulled up before next, at Cheltenham 3m (1) sft in Mar.
