Owney Madden ran out of steam upped to 7f at Doncaster last week but had won a tougher nursery than this over today’s trip at York before that and another bold bid is expected. Hurstwood has finished behind the latter the last twice now while Dutch Decoy finished in front of What A Business when landing a handicap at Hamilton. One Hart was placed at Kempton last time but Tom Tulliver’s neck defeat at Beverley looks stronger form while several make their handicap debuts including Catterick winner Rapid Russo and BYLINE. The latter scored at Hamilton before struggling in the Gimcrack at York but the half-brother to smart sprinters Bogart and Blaine can do much better at this level. Malvern lost his unbeaten record behind Owney Madden at York though it’s too soon to write him off.
