Naaddey and Kelucia have both shown a fair level of form but may have to settle for minor honours behind Carte Sauvage, who is taken to supplement his recent win here over seven furlongs. Beaten over the same trip on his debut at Warwick, Mark Johnston's colt beat some useful looking types in July and, with plenty more improvement to come over the longer trip, the son of Kris S looks the one to be on. Mick Channon's Naaddey rates the main danger and, like the selection, will not mind any further rain. However, he lacks the scope of the Johnston horse. Southwell all-weather winner Rock Lobster is difficult to evaluate but probably needs to improve, as does Jim Goldie's Kelucia. Sheliak makes limited appeal on her debut so this is expected to go to Carte Sauvage.
