The hope that this will throw some light on any bias in the draw is not helped by the fact that there is plenty of pace across the track in the stalls, and a good break and luck in running look set to play there usual roles in this type of race. Ptarmigan Ridge and Laurel Dawn can tow them along from those towards the middle but will do well to hold onto a lead in this company. Get Stuck In should also be up with them early down the center but he is hard horse to predict and has thrown in too many bads ones to recommend wholeheartedly for win only purposes. Beyond The Clouds on the other hand is a reliable sort and should run his race as usual. Storyteller also comes into the race on the back of a win and seems to have found a new lease of life this term - he also has place claims if he can uphold his recent form. However, unoriginal that it may be, it is hard to escape the claims of Brave Burt, even though he is 9lb higher than when winning at Newmarket in July. The five-year-old was thought to be heading for the Gold Cup at one stage but is far better suited to the minimum trip. David Nicholls will be keen to get another Western Meeting winner confirmed in the book and seems to have held the gelding back for a race of this nature. An early price of around 6/1 may be too hard to resist and Brave Burt will carry the hopes of the TEAMtalk race-desk in this warm-up for the best sprint race of the season, which comes up on Saturday afternoon.
