Verdict

Hakam won a maiden at Wolverhampton last month and there should be more to come from him now handicapping. Funding Deficit scored over track and trip last time and is upped 3lb but Baddilini failed to take advantage of a lower mark back on Turf at Brighton and has not won on this surface since 2012. The betting suggested AL KHAN (NAP) would run a big race at Thirsk and he duly went close despite suffering the indignity of being struck on the head by a rival jockey’s whip. Kevin Ryan’s charge gets another chance in this with Alejandro worth noting in the betting off his current mark.
