In depth

Verdict

Ugo Du Misselot was staying on over a slightly longer trip here last month but has place claims again as he’ll strip fitter today. Champagnesuperover was a well-backed favourite at Chepstow after a debut second at Stratford but didn’t show the expected improvement. Honor Grey has been looking a bit one-paced but Simple Rules took a step forward at Sedgefield and Melanamix has scope. BASS ROCK came up against an above-average recruit when failing to land the odds at Carlisle in November. Sandy Thomson’s stable is in better form now and he can recoup losses.
