Venn Ottery can put his Cheltenham and Aintree disappointments behind him to score at the expense of Full Irish, with Mister McGoldrick and Rodber others in with a shout. Venn Ottery was perhaps flying a bit to high when taking on the very best company at Cheltenham, and was also put in his place at Aintree, but there is no doubting the fact that he does have enough talent to rattle up another few wins before having a deserved break. Owner Ollie Carter obviously has faith in him or he would not have backed him at odds of 1000/1 for the Festival, and he can get a few quid back here, with conditions in the nine-year-old's favour. He makes much more appeal than his younger stablemate Le Duc, and a bigger danger will be Full Irish. Len Lungo is top trainer round here and although his runner is only a small animal, he was good enough to make a winning chase debut at Hexham, and was going as well as anything when falling four out on his latest outing here two months ago. Mister McGoldrick was the winner that day, with Rodber second but Full Irish may well have beaten both and is taken to prove that here. Royaleety looks held on that form as well, assuming Full Irish had stayed upright, and he can give the selection, Venn Ottery, most to do.
