A maximum field of 28 assemble here, but we are keen on the chance of Burning Incense over the likes of Wyatt Earp, Commando Scott and Knot In Wood to name but a few potential dangers. Burning Incense has done nothing but improve all season, and Roger Charlton's three-year-old would not have been out of place going for gold on Saturday. He made light of a 9lb rise when landing the NGK Spark Plugs Handicap at Newmarket last month, and drawn in the favoured number eight stall here, he should make a bold bid. Wyatt Earp has been in terrific form as well, having won each of his last two starts, including a competitive class 2 handicap at York. Richard Fahey's charge makes slightly more appeal than stablemate Knot In Wood who runs under a 5lb penalty. Commando Scott will improve for his Haydock return, and is reported to be so well that trainer Ian McInnes is also considering running him in the opener on Saturday's card. plenty in with chances then, but we have been impressed with Burning Incense and stay loyal to him now.
