We'll Confer can get losses back, with Holdin Foldin, Mood Music, Southandwest and Alzerra making for a close contest. We'll Confer has bags of speed, and so it is to his credit that he has been holding his own in good company over six furlongs lately. After fading close home in the Weatherbys Super Sprint at Newbury, the son of Piccolo was a close fourth in the St Leger Yearling Stakes at York before going one place better in the Group 3 Sirenia Stakes at Kempton. All those pieces of form suggest that he is the one to beat today in this company. Holdin Foldin is another that has been keeping good company but he flopped badly in a soft-ground Listed affair at York last time and may have had enough for the season. This performance will reveal whether to keep him going or not. Mood Music stayed on really well when a close third in a Listed race at Tipperary and could perhaps do with an extra furlong, while Southandwest was favourite for a big race at the Curragh but found a Debby Evans inmate too good. Alzerra's best effort was in chasing home Sander Camillo in the Cherry Hinton, so she will have her supporters as well, but we reckon that We'll Confer can add to Kevin Ryan's list of juvenile winners this term in a fascinating contest.
