      Verdict

      Run Fat Lass Run found the rise in grade too much to contend with when unplaced at York and will find this return to a lower grade to her liking. Previously progressive, she's expected to be a leading contender. However, DARK CRYSTAL, the only 3-y-o on view, receives a healthy 17lb from the topweight and can bounce back from a fair effort at Hamilton on Saturday evening. The drop to 6f didn't seem to suit and in the circumstances she did well to get as close as she did. This represents her first sortie over a mile but her 7f victory on her penultimate outing when comprehensively outpointing the strongly-supported Crafted indicated it should be well within her compass. Ewell Place has no wins for a couple of years now but is running consistently well and is handicapped to finish alongside Run Fat Lass Run on Carlisle running last month.
