In depth

Verdict

Vengeur De Guye hasn’t really fired this season but was second over course and distance just over a year ago when ARDERA CROSS (NAP) was five lengths away in third. William Young’s 10-year-old is now 8lb better off, however, despite having won twice recently around here. Pistol Park has gone up 2lb for finishing second at Carlisle but makes more appeal than Sword Of Fate, who is an infrequent winner, and Discko Des Plages, who has been beaten three times off a higher mark since winning over 2m3f at Catterick. Las Tunas appears to have lost the plot since winning at Carlisle in the autumn.
