    In depth

    Verdict

This can go to Karelian, who has taken well to hurdles and gets the nod over Admiral, who already has something to find with the selection after failing to see the trip out on his hurdles debut at Doncaster. Admittedly Richard Guest's charge put in a much better performance last time and will be no push over this time. He still holds a Triumph Hurdle entry but will have to show exceptional improvement if he is to head to Cheltenham next week. Show No Fear has been a big disappointment, so Armentieres is fancied to be the best of the rest. Even so, she is nothing out of the ordinary and she needs more than luck on her side this afternoon. Therefore, we stick with Karelian, whose length and a half defeat inflicted by Akilak sets the standard here and Kevin Ryan's charge is expected to be very hard to beat today.
