In depth

Verdict

Lord Of The Road, Icy Prospect and Freydis look the ones to concentrate on in a competitive opener and the vote is given to Lord Of The Road. The selection is a point-to-point winner who ran well on his debut under rules. He is sure to have come on for the run and with the longer trip sure to suit he will be hard to beat. Icy Prospect rates the main danger he was a fair fourth behind The Listener last time out this looks easier and if he runs up to that mark he will not be far away. Freydis is another worthy of respect on his best form but he was pulled up behind The Barmaid last time out for no apparent reason so can not be put forward with any confidence. Safe To Blush is game and consistent and is sure to run his race but he is basically exposed. Harry Potter has shown enough in his outings to date to suggest he can take a hand in a race of this nature and he is from a shrewd yard so should be noted in the market but for the winner we return to Lord Of The Road who looks to have plenty of scope for improvement.
