In depth

Verdict

This looks to be a match between Turpin Green and Wild Cane Ridge, with the vote going to the former. The selection beat the useful Rebel Rhythm at Aintree in November, and then was a 16 length third of five runners to Roman Ark in a Grade 2 event at Haydock last time. Overall, his form rates the best on offer and this promising prospect can regain the winning thread. Wild Cane Ridge looks his only logical danger and has done little wrong in winning four of his five starts, including twice over hurdles. Best of the other pair is Papawoldo, who has interesting breeding but the vote in the finale goes to Turpin Green.
