Verdict
Love Angel is holding her form well and should be there or thereabouts, but we think this could concern the two Ian Semple runners Mintlaw and Byron Bay, with the former just getting the decsion. The selection landed a seven furlong contest on his final start of last season, easily beating some decent types. She finished third in a conditions event on her seasonal debut, before disappointing on fast ground last time. She obviously prefers plenty of cut and could return to her best this afternoon. Stable companion Byron Bay had some decent types behind when a well beaten runner up behind Artistic Style last time. Another big run can be expected on a course he obviously excells at. Love Angel may be just about in the handicappers grip, but is a game performer and should be involved in the finish. The pick of the others could be the Sir Mark Prescott trained Strudel, but on this ground we have to go with Mintlaw.
