In depth

Verdict

A very weak handicap with most of these out of form, however something has to win and we will give a tentative vote to Pee Jay's Dream, Perfect Balance and Boris The Spider could also get involved in the finish. Mick Easterby's three-year-old is at least a model of consistency and ran another solid race last time when runner up to Balwearie over a slightly shorter trip her last time. This looks his best chance of the season to lose his maiden tag. Perfect Balance wasn't far behind the selection in that contest and on similar weights this afternoon should be thereabouts again, although this extra distance may test his stamina to the limit. There appears to be no such problems for Boris The Spider who looks to have been crying out for this kind of trip and he could go close at a decent price. The best of the others could be Spring Pursuit, but in a very tricky contest Pee Jay's Dream just gets the decision.
