There are not many that can be given obvious chances in this modest handicap; our choice is Hogan's Heroes ahead of Three Strings and Farne Island. Hogan's Heroes gets the vote based on his Newmarket third last time in a race that may have been slightly better than today's contest. Farne Island put in an improved effort at Beverley last time over seven furlongs, and could improve over today's longer trip. Three Strings also improved last time for the fitting of cheekpieces. If they work again - especially given that he is dropping back in trip today - then he looks set to run well. Of the others, Prince Duval has been dropped what might be a generous seven pounds from his last run, so is respected, Ruby Rubble should be noted in the betting from her in-form stable, and Mick Channon's Noble Nova is surely racing from a mark from which she can surely run some sort of race. Overall, though, the selection remains Hogan's Heroes.
