WAKOOL is a massive 18lb higher than when easily beating Storm Nelson in this last year but won over the course and distance again in October with the runner-up franking the form at Doncaster last week. He probably found the company too hot in a Grade 3 at Haydock in November. Ronan McNally has sent two over from Northern Ireland with Vee Dancer in much better form than The Jam Man. Haute Estime hasn’t taken to fences this term but would have every chance on her hurdles form last season when she won a Listed contest and placed in a Grade 1 at Aintree.

Storm Nelson (IRE) 5-1 (11-3) In rear, in touch, not fluent 4 out, went 3rd home turn, ridden after 2 out and pressed leader, stayed on dourly and led 1f out on run-in, kept on well, won at Carlisle 3m 1f hcp (3) sft in Nov beating Flight Deck (12-0) by 1 3/4l, 6 ran.
