This not the strongest Novices' contest to have taken place this season and the progressive Strong Resolve may have enough in hand over Lunar Maxwell, Native Legend and Double You Cubed. The Lucinda Russell-trained selection had come up against some useful types prior to his success over course and distance on Boxing Day but finished that race with enough up his sleeve to suggest his 7lb penalty should not hinder him too much at this stage. Strong Resolve should also find the ground to his liking and he may be able to utilise his fitness edge over Native Legend, who is an interesting one to note in running for next time.
