WEDNESDAYS BOY, Sarraaf and Boppys Pride hold reasonable claims in the finale whilst it would be folly to leave Brandane off the short-list. Peter Niven's runner won twice over a mile here in August and it may be possible that the handicapper has him for now but he was staying on nicely over the same trip here last time which suggests that he may find a little more for this slightly stiffer test. Dark Planet ran well last time but may have been flattered by the performance and Boppys Pride appeals as more of an each-way option given that he has only one success to his name but he does handle these conditions. Sarraaf is at an advanced age now but was a close third behind Provost and Distant Pleasure last time and has won at around this trip so makes the short-list. Brandane is unexposed and produced a game display at Kempton but has a deal to prove under these contrasting conditions so we'll opt for Wednesdays Boy.
