Verdict

BECAUSEWECAN couldn't be a confident pick in this nursery given his recent form but then neither Verinco nor Bold Account have done a great deal to advertise their claims of late either. The race that the selection contested at Doncaster last time was a warm one so we can forgive him that but it's more difficult to forget his penultimate run that saw him finish last on heavy ground over a mile at this track. He has shown some form on heavy ground prior to that run and may be worth another chance in a weak contest. Verinco has yet to encounter ground worse than good in his career and has yet to tackle this trip. Therefore, he's plenty to prove but he has ability and couldn't be dismissed. Bold Account looked progressive earlier in the season but hasn't looked the same horse since finishing lame in September and was well held in a claimer last time; he, at least, does have soft ground form. Grissom could get involved if seeing out this longer trip and his pedigree offers hope that he will unlike Meg Jicaro who could struggle to get home. Becausewecan is the suggestion.
