King Charles, Font and Lang Shining are all fancied here and the vote is given to Font. The selection is relatively lightly raced and he ran a blinder at York last time in a competitive handicap when third to Greek Well. He will handle the ground today and he will get maximum assistance from Jamie Spencer in the saddle so he should prove hard to beat. Lang Shining is an improving colt and he ran really well last time when coming from down the field to finish a neck behind Cactus Rose at Sandown. He looks a smart performer and he should go well. King Charles has enjoyed a fine season and he ran well again in defeat last time. He should again run his race here but the handicapper looks to have his measure and we expect him to find at least one too good. Padlocked is a consistent type and his yard are in flying form at present so he can also go well, but James Fanshawe also has his string in good order at present and Font can land the prize.
