In depth

Verdict

Mick Channon unleashes Silca Chiave, and she can prove too good for the likes of Tee Off, Elusive Flash and Passing Hour. Having won this race 12 months ago with Silca's Sister, Channon now introduces her half-sister Silca Chiave who has multiple Group 1 entries by her name and is also pencilled in for the Lowther Stakes at York next month. Sure to have been well prepared, connections will be disappointed if she does not get off to the best possible start, and we should be hearing a lot more about her next year. Tee Off has the benefit of two outings, and the Barry Hills inmate, having improved markedly between her debut at Windsor and her next engagement at Newbury, is likely to make her presence felt here. Elusive Flash was an expensive purchase and also holds an entry in the Lowther, while Passing Hour is a full-sister to Queen Mary heroine Shining Hour, but hails from a very much out-of-form stable. Not so Silca Chiave, whose yard is flying at present, and she can add to the tally.
