A fantastic line-up for the Sagaro Stakes and it can go to the indomitable Persian Punch ahead of Millenary and Let Me Try Again. Quite rightly, David Elsworth's old war-horse is just about the most popular horse in training. As tough as old boots, he gives his all and wins in the Goodwood Cup, Doncaster Cup and Jockey Club Cup lasts season showed that he was as good as ever. We are hoping that the fire still burns within him, in which case he will be hard to get past. His rivals include the dual Ascot Gold Cup winner, Royal Rebel, who has been off through injury and will probably need the run, Millenary, who was beaten just short head by the selection in last season's Jockey Club Cup, Dusky Warbler, who was beaten seven lengths by the selection in the Doncaster Cup but comes here race-fit, Savannah Bay, who was second in this race last year, Sir Michael Stoute's highly-regarded Supremacy, Mark Johnston's promising Shanty Star, last year's Derby seventh, Let Me Try Again, French raider Risk Seeker, and Mick Channon's multiple winner Misternando, who is now stepped up in class. As we say, it's a cracker, and it can go to Persian Punch.
