PHILLIPINA is something of a sketchy selection against Pollys Mark and Snowqualmie Girl. Sir Michael Stoute's filly was very well touted earlier in the season after finishing second in the Cheshire Oaks. Well held in the Epsom classic, she had little to do to win at Nottingham but then proved a disappointment in the Chalice Stakes at Newbury. If that was a bad day in the office, she is more than capable of beating this bunch though that is something we really have to take on trust. Pollys Mark accounted for her on that occasion. Take nothing away from Clive Cox's filly as she is improving for her racing and with her handler taking the Ayr Gold Cup at the weekend, there are no doubts on that score. Snoqualmie Girl won well at Chester in a weak listed contest. She had been found out previously in the Galtres Stakes at York. Uvinza is invariably tilted at this level. William Knight certainly holds her in high regard though the results this year speak for themselves. Princess Taylor ran a career best in the Park Stakes at Doncaster while Mischief Making has had a bizarre prep with the Northumberland Plate being her last port of call. Phillipina is arguably the best horse in the race though she comes with a couple of reservations.
