Tender Falcon, Smart John and Night Sight should fight this one out, and we give the nod to Tender Falcon. The selection has gone up 11lb for successive wins at Bath and Epsom last month, but may not have stopped winning. The drop back to 10 furlongs may be a bit of a doubt, but the big field will help this to be truly run, and if he gets that he can make his form count and stay on up the hill to complete a hat-trick. Smart John is another dropping back in trip, but he has shown form over this distance when second at Pontefract in June, and he is another who will want this to be run at pace to bring his stamina into play. Apart from the trip, the ground may not be suitable for him. Night Sight will appreciate any further drying of the ground and should go well. A winner over this trip at Pontefract last month, he put a blip behind him to win over 12 furlongs at Thirsk three weeks ago and has chances off just a 2lb higher mark, but he may not have enough in hand to repel the preying Tender Falcon, who is our selection here.
