Verdict

A poor turnout numerically for this new race though it's highly likely to produce a useful winner. Havana Gold is likely to be a warm order after his debut success against his odds-on stablemate Pearl Acclaim at Newmarket though third-placed Sejalaat, who looked a bit unlucky, has been well beaten subsequently. Richard Hughes has chosen him over stablemate Millers Wharf, who looked in need of the run at Goodwood. Glass Office showed promise on his Haydock debut which was realised when he landed the odds at Kempton where he was eased right down at the finish. He'll do better but it's DISCERNABLE who looks the one to be on. Mark Johnston sent the expensive daughter of Elusive Quality to Kempton for her debut and she made all for an impressive victory over subsequent winner Savanna La Mar, form that looks good enough to take this.
