MUTHABARA wasn't herself in the Guineas but she was only beaten three lengths and she can make amends here at the main expense of Spacious, Raymi Coya and Infallible. Natagora's subsequent effort against the boys over in France means that the Guineas form looks fair and whilst Spacious finished ahead of Infallible, Muthabara and Nahoodh, the feeling is that Muthabara may find more improvement. Whilst Nahoodh has been snapped up by the big Sheikh and moved to Middleham, she disappointed in the Irish 1000 and has questions to answer now. Spacious is the major danger, as she looked sure to improve for the run in the Guineas; however she stays this trip so well that one wonders whether an extra furlong or two would see her even more powerful. The selection had injury problems leading up to Newmarket but still ran a fair race and she had not fully come into her coat there. With almost a month more sun on her back she should be backed accordingly here. Psalm is capable of better than we have seen recently, whilst Raymi Coya is not one to underestimate as her form stacks up well but this is a further leap in class. Lush Lashes was outpaced at Newmarket and now back over this trip, the Musidora winner cannot really be backed unless they go a suicidal pace. Caribbean Sunset would probably prefer some rain, but along with Infallible is a horse of great potential and even more paddock value. A tough contest, however Muthabara gets the vote.
