Dream Eater doesn't have a fashionable or expensive pedigree like many of these, and he rates a huge danger based on his Guineas fifth, however it is JUPITER PLUVIUS who is fancied to oblige ahead of Calming Influence and Aqlaam. Aidan O'Brien's Johannesburg colt lost his unbeaten record in the Irish 2000 Guineas when well held behind stablemate Henrythenavigator. That was his first try at a mile and he didn't seem to stay so the drop back to seven furlongs looks a good move as he tackles a larger field but lesser opposition. Quick ground suits and he looks the pick of the Ballydoyle duo. War Officer will no doubt be underestimated because of his Gallic roots, whilst Calming Influence will be hoping to give the 'boys in blue' a boost following the disappointment of flag-bearer Creachadoir's injury. Stablemate Il Warrd must be respected but he has a bit to find with Georgebernardshaw and Paco Boy on their recent French Guineas clash. Aqlaam could be anything after just two runs and the way that he disposed of a big field last time suggests that he won't be overawed here despite his inexperience. Better ground should suit Shallal, whose stable took this last year, the drop in trip will suit Dream Eater whilst Royal Confidence is fairly treated at these weights and would not be one to discard completely. Stimulation is better off at the weights with Calming Influence, who pipped him last time, so he must enter calculations.
