As 30 runner handicaps go this is up there with the toughest; excuses aside we will side with the uncomplicated PHILARIO who should give backers a good run for their money from the front. The list of dangers is long and intricate but it is perhaps headed by the formidable trio of Forgotten Voice, Roaring Forte and Cadre. Karl Burke's colt comes here on the back of a gallant third at Epsom behind Tartan Gigha. That was another good effort, building on his Curragh win in May and although he is not thrown in off his new mark of 105, he should run well, especially if there is any rain around. Lovelace is back in handicap company and that means he must be considered, along with the consistent trio of Mia's Boy, Bushman and Mahadee. Forgotten Voice has a very sexy profile but he was taking advantage of a farcial handicap mark before and his new 11b higher mark in a much better race will find out any weaknesses. Roaring Forte looks the pick of the William Haggas duo, and Liam Jones is riding well. This Cape Cross colt is another who is up in the weights following a recent win but he is progressive and the return to a mile is in his favour. Docofthebay needs everything to drop right, whilst the drop in trip will suit Military Power. Dunn'o is a hard horse to pass but he will struggle to dominate this field and was given a truly fantastic ride when winning last time. Cadre has a bit to find with Dunn'O but on a form line through Tartan Gigha he looks interesting and looks a huge danger for a trainer with a good record in the race. Royal Power, Soccerjackpot, Axiom and Kavachi must all be treated with respect, but in a race where there has been no winning favourite in the last ten years, we will take a chance on Philario.
