Richard Hannon has a good record with his runners in nurseries and is fancied to take this with Canton, who is preferred to stablemate Bentley's Bush and top weight Fiefdom. The last mentioned still looked green when opening his account at Doncaster last month and there may be more to come from the son of Singspiel. Bentley's Bush had to work hard to justify short odds at Goodwood last time but has ground conditions to suit. Stronger claims are held by stablemate Canton. The son of Desert Style has looked in need of the step up to six furlongs in all of his outings, having lost ground at the start on each occasion and, of what looks a fair mark, he gets the vote. David Loder's horses have gone off the boil recently so Observer is probably best watched at present. A bigger threat then may come from Michael Bell's Sacred Nuts, for who the booking of Frankie Dettori takes the eye. Andrew Balding's Alsu is another worthy of a mention but the vote goes to Canton, who is taken to extend Richard Hannon's good record in nurseries.
