A good turn out for this race with the progressive trio of Kaldoun Kingdom, Shifting Star and Blue Sky Basin making most appeal. Richard Fahey's runner may have the answers as long as the ground doesn't ride too fast. Spanish Bounty and Spitfire were the first two home in a heritage handicap at Newmarket's July meeting and are only 6 and 3lbs higher respectively and both should go well again. The selection was down the field on that occasion but wasn't well drawn and came back to form at York last time. He will need to go on from there if he's going to win this but he showed at Newmarket in April that he's capable of winning a similar prize. Blue Sky Basin showed impressive speed at Goodwood and is lightly enough raced to believe that he may have more to offer but that will need to be the case if he's to overcome a 13lb higher mark this afternoon. Similar remarks apply to Shifting Star who has done really well this year and is 4lbs higher than when winning over course and distance last time. He didn't appear to have a huge amount in hand then and needs to take another step forwards. A tight contest in which Kaldoun Kingdom is taken to reign.
