These are closely matched on handicap ratings but CAPE BYRON returns to action having ended last season with a maiden win at Newmarket. Entries in Group 1 races including next month’s Champion Stakes suggest big things are expected of him this autumn and Roger Varian’s colt may prove good enough in this. Musawaat won a handicap at Newmarket recently and Fire Brigade showed further progress when scoring again at Haydock. Dr Julius No and Medieval have had less luck in decent handicaps and Maths Prize is proving hard to predict.
