Verdict

PROCLAIM has been holding his form well all season and is preferred in this finale to Five Star Junior, Tropical Paradise and Never Lose. This looks a trappy contest for punters to go out on a high with but Proclaim seemed to react positively to the blinkers last time out at Goodwood. The drop in trip is no problem and neither is the return to a quicker surface so he can carry his big weight to victory. Also with ten stone on her back is Favourite Girl who drops into handicaps following some average runs in higher grade; her third to Swiss Diva at York means she needs to be taken seriously. Enderby Spirit's win at Haydock in July links a few of these; on that form line Five Star Junior (who finished in front of the selection) and Noverre To Go (dead-heated with Five Star Junior) must run big races. Tropical Paradise wasn't disgraced behind The Cheka last time and the return to six furlongs will suit, a comment that also applies to Never Lose and Affluent who tries the trip for the first time. Kerrys Requiem is a hold-up horse who needs luck in running, whilst it would be a boon for backers of Run For The Hills to see him up with the pace from an early stage as that is when he has run his best races. A 3lb drop in the weights leaves Able Master competitive; however it is Proclaim who is nominated.
