Verdict

Grand Inquisitor has disappointed in his last two and is now visored – he may also prefer softer going. Very Talented looked promising last year but finished last on his return to action in the Craven Stakes in April and hasn't been seen since. Sir Roderic's winning run came to an end at Newmarket last month but he was only beaten a neck and is obviously much improved. Aclaim has ability but is an unknown over this trip so Early Morning makes more appeal as he's only gone up 2lb for a recent course and distance victory when ahead of Bancnuanaheireann. Harry Dunlop's charge was eight in the Royal Hunt Cup here in June, ahead of SPARK PLUG, but Brian Meehan's five-year-old got no sort of run that day and, on 4lb better terms, can reverse the form and end his losing run today.
