Verdict
Bun Doran returned to winning ways at Doncaster but only beat King D'argent a neck and is 2lb worse off. Tom George’s veteran was beaten by Gunsight Ridge at Sandown in January and was only fourth behind DOLOS at the same track later. The second, Frero Banbou, was a never-nearer third behind Global Citizen in the Grand Annual at Cheltenham last month but is 6lb better off with the winner, who will probably try and dominate again. Dancing On My Own and Sky Pirate were both well beaten at Cheltenham, with Elixir De Nutz pulled up, but the former’s trainer also runs Zarkareva and Bold Enough with Mark Walsh’s mount possibly the pick of the trio. The selection’s stablemate Thyme White is not out of this and Before Midnight has had a good season and is another to consider.
