Verdict

Emitom puts an unbeaten record and a tall reputation on the line. Softer going would have been ideal but he’s clearly a smart novice worth a try in this grade and over a longer trip. Lisnagar Oscar never really looked like winning the Albert Bartlett at Cheltenham but wasn’t disgraced and earlier won a Grade 2 over this trip at Haydock. Go Another One is looking a little exposed but John McConnell is not one to tilt at windmills and his charge won a Grade 3 at Thurles earlier this year while Walk Away could be anything after bolting up in a maiden on the same track on his debut under Rules. Ardlethen has looked a promising stayer the last twice at Uttoxeter but CHAMP may have too much pace around here. He is having a first try over 3m but gives the impression he’ll stay and his recent form in Grade 1 races is clearly the best on offer. Dallas Des Pictons should be next best but has had some hard races lately.
