Few home comforts for Yeovil
Tuesday 16 September 2014 23:07, UK
Yeovil are still without a home win in League One after being held to a 1-1 draw by bottom club Crewe.
Goals from Crewe's Billy Waters and Kieffer Moore split the points between two sides enduring a below-par start to the season. The first chance of note arrived just after the half-hour mark when skipper Joe Edwards stung the fingers of Crewe goalkeeper Ben Garratt with his lashed effort from distance. Crewe looked to be heading for three points to haul themselves off the foot of the table when they took a surprise lead after 61 minutes. Glovers' goalkeeper Jake Kean - signed on Monday on loan from Blackburn - parried Vadaine Oliver's strike straight into the path of the alert Waters, who duly tucked home the opener. The goal sparked a triple substitution from manager Glovers boss Gary Johnson and his side were level when one such introduction, Moore, powerfully headed home Nathan Smith's left-wing cross.
