Argentine on the mark as United keep up fine start
A superb strike from Luciano Becchio kept Leeds United's 100 per cent start to the season intact as they saw off Wycombe Wanderers.
The Argentine striker let fly from outside the box in the 61st minute, giving Scott Shearer in the home goal no chance.
Leeds were good value for their win with Jermaine Beckford and Becchio both going close on several occasions.
However Wycombe almost snatched a draw late on after Jonny Howson and Bradley Johnson had come close to extending the visitors' lead.
With 90 seconds of normal time remaining, Shane Higgs in the Leeds goal was forced to make a terrific save to turn a Stuart Green effort onto the post.
Wycombe keeper Shearer came up for the resulting corner but the ploy almost backfired as Leeds cleared and Beckford sent a long-range effort wide.
