Wycombe v Bristol Rovers preview
Friday 24 August 2012 13:26, UK
Team news for Saturday's League Two clash between Wycombe and Bristol Rovers at Adams Park.
Wycombe boss Gary Waddock is likely to be without Sam Wood when they host Bristol Rovers. The midfielder was withdrawn during the defeat to Gillingham in midweek with a knee injury and although there is no timescale on his return, he is certain not to face the Pirates. Fellow midfielder Matt Bloomfield was also replaced in the same game after suffering a groin strain and is a major doubt. Charles Dunne was back in training this week after a dead leg, but may be short of match fitness. Striker Matt McClure also returned after suffering with tendonitis of the knee but he too may be short of fitness. Injured duo Danny Foster (knee) and Marvin McCoy (ankle ligaments) remain sidelined. Pirates boss Mark McGhee will be without Gary Kenneth. The defender returned to the bench in midweek for the 1-1 draw with Barnet after a hamstring strain but had to be withdrawn during the warm-up after injuring his calf. Kenneth faces up to six weeks on the sidelines, with Fabian Broghammer currently McGhee's only naturally defensive cover. Midfielder Matt Lund also missed the draw with the Bees having picked up a knock in the previous match, and faces a late fitness test. McGhee's only other injury concern is goalkeeper Scott Bevan. The former Wycombe stopper won't face his old club as he continues to recover from a wrist operation. However, striker Matt Harrold, who netted in midweek, will face his former club.
