Wigan 2-2 Milwall Grigg denies Millwall
Tuesday 29 September 2015 23:03, UK
Wigan substitute Will Grigg's stoppage-time equaliser denied Millwall a third straight Sky Bet League One victory on the road as they drew 2-2 at the DW Stadium.
Latics had led through Michael Jacobs' 54th-minute goal, but substitute Fred Onyedinma levelled matters and Mark Beevers put the Lions ahead with 16 minutes remaining, only for Grigg to salvage a point with a hooked finish.
The visitors created the best two opportunities of the first period, but neither Lee Gregory or strike partner Aiden O'Brien were able to take their chances.
Gregory rifled wide of the far post having spun in the box while O'Brien glanced Carlos Edwards' deep cross just past the top corner of Richard O'Donnell's net.
Wigan were lacking in quality rather than endeavour in the final third, and it was more hard work that contributed to the opening goal.

Half-time substitute Francisco Junior stole the ball back 25 yards out and fed the ball into Jacobs, who steadied himself before rolling a left-footed try into the far corner for his third goal of the season.
Millwall boss Neil Harris then introduced Onyedinma to try and turn the tide and it worked with 21 minutes to go, the teenager firing in an equaliser after Jimmy Abdou's blocked attempt had fallen into his path, and better was to come for the Lions.
Wigan were unable to deal with a deep corner towards the edge of the six-yard box and although goalkeeper O'Donnell clawed the ball away from his goal with one hand, Beevers was in the right place to plant a header onto the crossbar and over the line.
Jordan Archer denied Jacobs and Sanmi Odelusi equalisers but after the goalkeeper was caught out of position from a Tim Chow cross, Grigg swivelled to snatch a late leveller.
